Olivia Niermans joined Montessori House in November 2017 as the French teacher in CASA 1. Olivia is French and English. She grew up in France and graduated as a Physical Education teacher with a diploma in “Psychomotricité” from Belgium. At present, she is following a Montessori Early Childhood course.
During her studies, she was fortunate to have diverse internships. She worked in Brussels with refugee children, in Braine L’Alleud at a school for handicapped children and then in a nursing home where she applied Montessori principles helping the aged.
For Olivia, Montessori is a natural approach to education and child development. She believes that
‘the environment must be inviting which allows the child to conduct his own experiences.’
